Rob, I'd love to visit sometime! I certainly understand the challenge of building a community that is ethically diverse. I'm constantly in prayer for new visions and ways to uplift diverse leaders in the Church and in our own community here! Peace and Grace to you in all you do! Here's to hoping we meet in person someday!

Christiana: Thanks so much for taking time to read the review! I certainly don't doubt women are welcome as leaders in NieuCommunities! It's hard to review a book and not seem like I'm also critiquing the community it came out of! Peace and Grace in your leadership (and blessings as you lead with two small kiddos!). I loved your use of the phrase global influencers. Were that all communities were so welcoming of women in such Kingdom Focused leadership roles! Peace!!!

Thanks for your thorough read and review of the book, Caitlin! I appreciate your affirmation and your constructive critique, both of which make us stronger and hold us to our values.
I am a 32 year old female with two small children and I have the privilege of leading alongside Jon and Rob in NieuCommuntiies. I not only share life and leadership with these guys and other women and men on the ground in our neighborhood but I also oversee our network of communities around the world. I'm in the role of leadership because of the alignment of my gifts to fit the need, regardless of my gender. I'm grateful be a part of a network of communities that seeks to value each person, at every life stage, and empowers us to make our best contribution to the whole for the sake of God's Kingdom. I say this to both affirm our mutual desire to see women in places of influence in our communities AND to reassure you that NieuCommunities is a safe and compelling place for women serve as leaders and global influencers.

So glad you found the book helpful Caitlin. We'd sure love to have you visit one of our communities sometime and we'd love to visit yours. I think you'd be really encouraged to find that half our communities are led by women, the entire NieuCommunities tribe is now led by a woman, and--if you exclude Jonny and me--almost half the voices in the 6 DVDs that come with our Small Group Edition book are women's voices. And while we certainly have a long way to go to be as ethically diverse as we'd like, you'll find people of different ethnicities in all our communities.
