Gandhi 1929Today marks the 65th anniversary of the death of Mohandas K. Gandhi (born 1869)…

And in commemoration, we are offering a free download of an ebook edition of his book FREEDOM’S BATTLE, which is an early outline of the (non-violent) struggle against colonialism in India.

One of the books that I’m most anticipating this spring is Gandhi’s Printing Press: Experiments in Slow Reading by Isabel Hofmeyr (Harvard UP, March).  Hofmeyr recently gave a talk related to the book at Harvard, which you can watch online.  And one of the works that she focuses on in the talk, Gandhi’s Indian Home Rule is also available as a free ebookRead our recent review of Gandhi and the Unspeakable by James Douglass.
